How to find the IMAP information for my email server?

Anaba usually detects your email server settings automatically.

If this doesn’t work, you can enter the IMAP information manually.

Your IT team should be able to provide these details, but you can also look them up directly in your email client by following the steps below.

Apple Mail on Mac

  • Open Mail on your Mac.
  • In the top menu bar, click Mail and then Settings (or Preferences depending on your version).
  • In the left-hand sidebar, select the email account you want to connect to Anaba.
  • Go to the Account Information or Server Settings tab.
  • Look for the Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) and the corresponding port.

Outlook for Mac

  • Open Outlook on your Mac.
  • In the top menu bar, click Outlook, then select Settings (or Preferences).
  • Click Accounts.
  • In the left-hand sidebar, select the email account you want to connect.
  • Under the server information, look for the Incoming server:

the long text field usually contains the server name (IMAP),

the field on the right corresponds to the port.

Outlook for Windows (PC)

  • Open Outlook on your PC.
  • Click File in the top left corner.
  • Click Account Settings > Account Settings….
  • In the Email tab, double-click the account you want to connect.
  • Under Server Information, you’ll find the Incoming mail server (IMAP).
  • To find the port, click More Settings… > Advanced tab.
  • The Incoming server (IMAP) field shows the port number.

iPhone (Apple Mail)

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  • Scroll down and tap Mail, then Accounts.
  • Select the email account you want to connect.
  • Under the IMAP section, tap Account.
  • The Incoming Mail Server section displays the IMAP host name and port.

Android (native email app)

  • Open the Settings app on your Android device.
  • Go to Apps (or Applications)
  • Find and tap your Email app.
  • Open the account settings for the email address you want to connect.
  • Look for Advanced settings or Server settings.
  • On the Server settings screen, you’ll see the Incoming server (IMAP) and the port.

If you still can’t find your IMAP information, we recommend contacting your IT department or email provider so they can confirm the correct server name, port and security settings (SSL/TLS).
